This is the most addicting and at the same time frustrating game ever made. Action Supercross is a 2D motorbike simulation game created in 1998 by the Hungarian Balázs Rózsa. It is based on a real physical model and explores the notion of elastic motorcycles. It may not be very difficult to play, but to drive fast times can be insane.

When players (Kuski's) start to get addicted to this game, they'll start abusing subtle glitches and perform tricks that will create a big impact on your times. Balázs never expected his own game to become this popular.

Check out this trick in the level 'Headbanger' (in Elasto Mania). It's the world record time for this level, and it's an example of players doing things that Balázs never dreamed of being possible when he developed this game.

It is also possible to download replay movies from world record players, and suddenly it will seem this game was even more difficult than you thought! Trying to learn the cool tricks you see in those replay movies, and then sharing your own replay movies with friends is what made this game great and extremely addicting.

Sorry about my awful times in these screenshots, i've got better times in Elasto Mania, i promise ;)

Are you caught up in fever? Now that the sun has finally shown itself, and we’ve all set our clocks ahead, spring is in the air. If you find yourself looking at baseboards and wondering how they got so grungy, consumed with the thought of rearranging your closet or excited by the idea of wiping down your showers and tubs, it’s safe to say that answer is yes. Spring is part of our natural rhythm. Unfortunately, many cleaners contain harsh chemicals that can be harmful to our health, as well as the environment. Some common household cleaners can cause skin and eye irritation, respiratory issues, and even chemical burns. At the top of the list of dangerous products are cleaners for ovens, drains, showers, and toilet bowls. Additionally, many products contain unnecessary fragrances which may irritate your eyes or lungs or induce headaches. Here’s a list of non-toxic products you can use in place of harsh cleaners to avoid harmful side effects. Best of all, you probably have everything you need in your pantry or cupboards.Vinegar Distilled white vinegar is an amazing cleaner. Because it has a high level of acidity, it will kill mold, germs, and bacteria. Mixed with salt, it can eliminate lime deposits. If your blinds are dirty, mix equal parts distilled white vinegar in warm water. Dip a cleaning rag in the solution and wipe away the grime. You may also use white cotton gloves, dipping your fingers in the solution and using them to wipe the blinds clean. Use the same solutions on your refrigerator shelves. A paste of vinegar and table salt will polish brass, and remove lime deposits from faucets and showerheads. Cut grease on your range hood by wiping it with a sponge that has been soaked in vinegar.Baking soda You probably already know that an open box of baking soda will absorb odors in your refrigerator or pantry. But thi cheap christian louboutin outlet s non-toxic powder can also keep your kitchen sparkling clean in a variety of ways. Wipe down surfaces with a damp rag dipped in baking soda, then rinse with clean water. It will also get those burn marks off the bottom of your pots, pans, and tea kettles. It’s safe to use on no-wax floors to remove scuff marks, too. To get rid of the grime that builds up on cupboard doors, mix equal parts of baking soda and vegetable oil. Work it in with a cloth or toothbrush, then wipe away. (Put a towel down on the counter to catch all of the mixture that falls to the counter as you work.) Clean your silver with a paste made of three parts baking soda and one part water. Work it into the pieces and then rinse with warm water before drying with a soft cloth.Blue Dawn The Examiner hates cleaning her showers because she has yet to find a shower cleaner that doesn’t make her gag. Then she discovered the miracle of Pinterest and learned how to mix equal parts of warm vinegar and blue Dawn dish soap. Mix that up and put it into a spray bottle, then give it a gentle shake to help it mix together. Squirt it all over your shower and tub and let it sit for a while, then just rinse it and wipe away. It works great on your sink, too. Olive oil Polish your wood furniture with a mixture of equal parts olive oil and lemon juice. Use long strokes to bring out the natural beauty of the wood. Or use a little oil on a clean, damp mop to spiff up your hardwood floors.Lemon juice Another favorite of the Boise Healthy Living Examiner is to use lemon juice to clean the microwave. You know how gross the inside of your microwave gets, especially when your kids are reheating spaghetti and it explodes? Of course they never clean that up while it’s still fresh. Then it gets baked on and turns into a horrible mess. Use lemon juice and water to de-gunk that stuff. Pour a little lemon juice into a microwave-safe bowl and add two or three cups of water. Put the bowl in the microwave and let it cook on high for a few minutes. Use oven mitts or a towel to remove the bowl and set it aside. Then t red bottmon shoes ake a sponge and wipe down the inside of the microwave. The citric acid from the lemon juice, combined with the steam from the water, will loosen everything and make it easier to wipe down. For stubborn, stuck-on grime, you may need to repeat the process, so don’t dump the water just yet.If you’re inspired to do some spring cleaning, here are a few more timely tips. Get these done this weekend and then make a point to do them again in the fall when you set your clocks back.Replace air and heating filters and give your vents a good vacuuming.Change smoke detector batteries.Flip your mattresses and vacuum them.Use newspaper to clean your windows, mirrors, and sliding glass doors instead of paper toweling.Go through your medicine cabinet and dispose of anything expired. Add replacements to your grocery list. These tips can not only help keep your home looking and smelling fresh and healthy, but they’ll save you some money, too. Astronomy grad student loves maps, data, and coffee. He brought them all together last fall in a project he calls The United States of Starbucks. Analyzing the locations of Starbucks in the lower 48 states, Davenport, who studies populations of stars at the University of Washington, turned up some interesting facts about Seattle s biggest local brew. Among them: 80 percent of Americans live within 20 miles of a Starbucks. And while you can t avoid passing a Starbucks in Seattle, you can be a whopping 140 miles away from one .Though the project got some attention last fall, he freshened it up for a presentation at the grab-bag speaker series Ignite Seattle (which I emcee) last month. This week he answered some questions about the project.Q: So why Starbucks?Starbucks was the gateway for my own love affair with coffee, as it is for so many people. It s also a Seattle icon, and one of the best ambassadors for our city s culture the world over. My wife and I have lots of hometown pride.Q: How did t christian louboutin outle his project come about?I enjoy maps and coffee, so it made a natural combination. I had done a previous small st christian louboutin outle udy on the locations of cafes across the University of Washington s campus, finding that you re always within two-minute walking distance (!). I wanted to do the same sort of study across the United States since I had also been playing with Census data for an article on race.Q: What do you make of the findings? Any of them surprise you? The map immediately looked great, and got me really excited to dig deeper. At first blush the locations all followed major freeways and cities, and it seemed pretty straightforward. It wasn t until I started counting the number of people within given distances to Starbucks locations that I was really surprised. I grew up in a pretty small town in Eastern Washington, but only 10 or 15 miles from a Starbucks in the next city. The punchline of 80 percent of us living within a mere 20 miles was louboutin outle online absolutely fascinating to me. While you might not drive 10 or 20 miles to a Starbucks, you definitely will drive that far to buy food or household items, and might stop for a coffee while you re out! It s urbanization in its purest form.Q: In layman s terms what tools did you use to do the analysis? The software I used was basic data analysis and visualization tools that we use in astronomy/physics. The location data was saved essentially in a big spreadsheet, which was then mapped by ZIP code. All of this can be done with open source tools, for example Python, which is an exciting part of the data-driven future; anyone can be a part of it.Q: Have you shared this with anyone at Starbucks? From my webpage s hit counter I know that a couple people from Starbucks have read the post, but no formal interactions yet. But I d absolutely be interested in doing an expanded version of the map in collaboration with them!Q: How close do YOU live to a Starbucks?About three-quarters of a mile, almost walking distance. Though, we usually go to a location by the grocery store, which is about two miles.Read more about Davenport s methodology and findings on his .Seen a story that caught your eye re: digital life? Email me at or reach me on  or .

March 22, 2013 4:20 a.m. It is sad that so many Americans like Mr. Begley can so clearly see that our representatives in Congress are indeed controlled by the NRA but cannot see that they are also controlled by other powerful interest groups of all sorts. The solution isn t to vote the representatives out, because they will simply be replaced by others who will be cowed by other powerful interest groups. The solution is public financi christian louboutin outle ng of campaigns and term limits. Mr. Begley sees the corruption in Congress but only seems concerned about it when it intersects with a c cheap christian louboutin online ause he cares about. We all need to understand that the corruption Mr. Begley writes about is not limited to the NRA. It is instead pervasive and it works to crush our hopes and dreams and substitute for them the desires of powerful interest groups with money and lobbyists. The NRA is one of those groups, but under our sy christian louboutin outle stem, they and other groups are allowed to advocate for and against legislation. We cannot outlaw them and playing musical chairs with members of Congress won t fix the problem. We need to change the system to lessen the influence these groups have on members of Congress. Cuban pianist Bebo Valdes dies in Sweden at age 94HAROLD HECKLE, Associated PressThe Associated PressMADRID -- Renowned Cuban pianist Bebo Valdes, a composer and bandleader who recorded with Nat "King" Cole, was musical director at Havana's legendary Tropicana Club and a key participant in the golden age of Cuban music has died in Sweden at age 94.The news of his death was confirmed by Cincy Byram, the agent of Valdes' son Chuco Valdes, who is a well-known musician in his own right. A cause of death was not given. The senior Valdes studied piano and later taught it to Chucho (Jesus Dionisio Valdes), who went on to become a founding member of the internationally acclaimed Cuban-based jazz band Irakere. The father began playing accompaniments at Havana's famous night clubs in the 1940s. He then worked with singer Rita Montaner as her pianist and arranger from 1948 to 1957, when she was the lead cabaret act at the Tropicana. His orchestra Sabor de Cuba also accompanied singers Benny More and Pio Leyva at the club. It was during this period that he and rival bandleader Perez Prado developed the mambo, a rhythmic style of dance music that swept the world. Valdes and his orchestra devised another rhythm called the batanga which he said helped differentiate his sound from Perez Prado's.The senior Valdes maintained a parallel interest in jazz music and took part in many important sessions, some recorded on Cuba's renowned Panart label."I was a jazz musician from a very young age," Valdes once said. "I started playing like the first jazz pianist I heard, a guy who was popular when I was a kid: Eddy Duchin." He said other influences were Fats Waller, Art Tatum, and Bill Evans. In 1958, he worked on Nat "King" Cole's album "Cole Espanol," collaborating with arranger Nelson Riddle on the orchestral backing tracks that were all recorded in Havana. He also worked with singers Lucho Gatica and Mona Bell.Following Fidel Castro's communist revolution in 1959, Valdes left Cuba, traveling to Mexico in 1960 accompanied by singer Rolando La Serie, but without his children.Valdes said one day a revolutionary guard went to his house demanding the pianist accompany him to a plaza where Castro was giving a speech. "I asked if there was going to be music there and he replied to me that Castro was music," he said, adding that he then knew it was time to go.After a brief stay in the United States, Valdes set off on a European tour.Valdes went to Stockholm in 1963 for a concert with the Lecuona Cuban Boys and fell in love with a Swedish woman, Rose Marie Pehrson, a cavalry officer's daughter. They got married the same year and he settled in Sweden. He described it as the most important moment of his life."It was like being hit by lightning," he said. "If you meet a woman and you want to change your life you have to choose between love and art."Valdes lived in Stockholm until 2007 where he often struggled to interest people in Cuban music and Latin jazz. He earned a meager living playing in restaurants, on boat cruises and in some of Stockholm's finest hotels, although he said he did once consider becoming a bus or taxi driver.Valdes was not able to see his increasingly well-known and Cuba-based son Chucho until 1978 when he visited New York for the first time in 18 years and attended a concert. The father often told an anecdote of how a Cuban regime minder came up to him after the concert and said, "See how well we have shaped your son?"He said he retorted, "I'm very glad, but when was that? Because Chucho played piano at home with me when he was four years old and at 16 he joined a band called Sabor de Cuba, my band."Valdes' career got a late boost in 1994 when he teamed up with saxophone player Paquito D'Rivera to release a CD called "Bebo Rides Again.""All musicians want to be famous and I think I've recently experienced some of the biggest moments of my life," Valdes told Svenska Dagbladet.Nine years later Valdes worked with Spanish singer-songwriter Diego Cigala on "Lagrimas Negras," a flamenco-jazz fusion style CD that won Best Record of the Year by the New York Times. The experience attracted him to Spain where he settled after leaving Stockholm.Valdes then worked with Chucho to release the CD "Juntos para Siempre" (Together Forever) in 2009. The father and son toured Europe at least twice.Valdes won five Grammy Award in the categories of Best traditional tropical album and Best Latin jazz albums: two for "El arte del sabor" in 2002, one for "Lagrimas Negras" in 2004 and two for "Bebo de Cuba" in 2006.Asked how he found the energy to keep performing he said, "What else would I do? Watch TV? No, I'd rather play the piano. I will play until I die."Valdes is survived by wife Rose Marie, daughters Mayra and Miriam, sons Raul, Jesus "Chucho," and Ramon (born in Cuba) and Raymond and Rickard, who are Swedish.___Associated Press correspondents Karl Ritter in Stockholm and Sigal Ratner-Arias in New York contributed to this report.

ST. CROIX - Women of Faith gathered on Friday at the V.I. Cardiac Center to speak out about ending violence against women the same day the territory observed International Women's Day.March 8 originally was called International Working Women's Day. In different parts of the world, the focus of the event ranges from general celebrations of respect, appreciation and love toward women to a celebration for women's economic, political and social achievements. The International Women's Day Forum, sponsored by the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Council, this year focused on plans to coordinate education prevention and response efforts to help reduce the incidence of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and dating violence and to make the crimes socially and culturally unacceptable. The council's director, Lynn Spencer, said women across the nation have been consistently in the top demographics of victims of violence. "Victims of abuse are primarily ex-girlfriends, girlfriends, wives, boyfriends and mothers in that order," she said. "We have to take a close look at why this happens and stop this trend."For many in the community, newly elected senators, the delegate to Congress, newly appointed judges and other women of influence bring a sense of hope that women's issues involving abuse and other victimization will be identified and addressed, but many women still struggle on a daily basis and see no relief coming soon, Spencer said."We need to get out and be productive in coordinating an effective community response to this," she said. "The reality of it is, until all of our women and girls are safe, none of our women and girls are safe."Gerene Joseph, Seventh-day Adventist North Caribbean Conference director of women's and children's ministries, was a guest speaker at the conference. She said the campaign to end violence against woman and girls has to be one that the entire community feels obligated to join. The Seventh-day Adventist North Caribbean Conference launched its "End It Now" campaign in 2009, which included members representing 10 islands in the region and has been working to continue to broaden the scope of work that they do and the women they reach."We all have to see the need and become active," Joseph said. "We are now collecting signatures and have collected hundreds of thousands of signatures from people who feel the same way that we do."The signatures will be submitted to United Nations leaders in hopes of getting more leadership to make a pledge to put policies and laws in place to protect women from violence, Joseph said. The event also included a panel discussion and an inspirational reading.Spencer said the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Council is available to help empower other groups and organization and provides training throughout the territory for professionals about how to deal with domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking. For more information or to be part of the movement to stop violence against women and girls, call 719-0144 on St. Croix or 776-3966 on St. Thomas.- Contact reporter Fiona Stokes at 714-9149 or email fstokes@dailynews.vi
