Virus (Really Obscure Retro Game Series)
Virus is one of those games that are incredibly cool, but impossible to play. This game has smooth, fluid 3D graphics, and you can fly around in a spaceship through huge landscapes. You'll see all kinds of 3D models such as houses, fishes, trees and cool spaceships. Virus is programmed by D.J. Braben and C.W. Sawyer.
It comes with little story, but when you finish an attack wave, you get to see some statistics which tell you that there are infected areas. The title of this game hints that the planet is infected with a virus and your job is to shoot all the.. virus-spaceship.. things.
The title screen indicates that this game is made in 1988, which makes the smooth 3D graphics very impressive for it's time. You can play this game in 4 color CGA, or 16 color EGA graphics. For controls, you can shoose keyboard, joystick of mouse.
I'm very happy there's also a self playing demo which starts automatically when you don't touch your computer for a while. I didn't even get past wave 1, so I'm really happy I could see some of the further stuff!
