Alley Cat
In the classic game Alley Cat you control Freddy the cat, whose object is to perform certain tasks within the homes of people in order to reach to his love Felicia. Somehow the programmer Bill Williams managed to create nice looking simple CGA graphics using the horrible four-color palettes. The different rooms are decorated only by simple objects like lamps and chairs.
The opening tune is incredible, and i think it's the best song ever written for the PC-bleeper speaker. Bill created something that sounded like a complete orchestra coming from that simple monophonic piezoelectric tweeter. This theme can be stuck in your head for days!
If you jump for the first time into an open windows it will be a surprise in what kind of room you will play. There are rooms with lots of sleeping dogs and many other kind of rooms that will present you with some bizare situations. This kind of gameplay, very short sequences that happen after eachother reminds me of the Wario War games on the Nintendo! To download the DOS version of this game, click here: alleycat.zip
