Kosmonaut, Skyroads and Stellar Xpress
Before they made Skyroads, Bluemoon Interactive released a game called Kosmonaut. It featured pseudo 3D graphics using the EGA adaptor, and.. frankly, terrible PC speaker sound. Kosmonaut was published in 1990 in Sweden. Two years later, they made an improved version, with better VGA graphics, and an amazing soundtrack. The gamplay mainly stayed the same, with a couple of tweaks. With Skyroads, they made a very addicting, enjoyable game, and the cool space background images and different challenges in each level keeps you playing for days!
After Skyroads, Bluemoon started working on an even better game: Stellar Xpress. They never finished the game, but it seems that they planned a lot of interesting new features in it. There is six degrees of freedom, which means you can move in all directions. The levels are no longer (almost) flat, but include different heights, you can choose multiple paths through the levels. There also seems to be support for basic 3D models, such as trees. It is a shame this game never got finished, as it would probably be even more fun to play than Skyroads.
