Leisure Suit Larry Goes Looking for Love (in Several Wrong Places)

After our hero Larry Laffer gets dumped by bathing beauty Eve, a microfilm falls into Larry's hands by mistake. This attracts the attention of the KGB as well as the mad scientist Dr. Nonookee, who both want to recover the film. He accidentally goes onto the television game shows "The Dating Connection" and "The LuckyBucko Lottery Show" where he wins a boat cruise on "The Love Tub", a dream date, and a million dollars. The dream date turns out to be the dream dates mother, who might be even more dangerous than the KGB.

The game uses the SCI0 adventure game engine that also powered Space Quest 3, Kings Quest 4, and more. This engine allows 320x200 pixels 16 color graphics, fluent cartoon animation and text parser + mouse control. The engine is also hailed for the ability to create 3D games, which meant the player could move their character around the screen and behind objects.

The second Larry game is much longer than it's original. It is also a bit harder as there are many deadly traps, and lots of times when you forget to pick something up in the beginning of the game, it will have consequences a lot further in the game. I remember forgetting to take the cheese knife on the resort island, so i had to play through the whole airport / airplane sequence again!

Also there are a lot of timed sequences in which you will have to catch a boat, an airplane or where you simply have limited time to do things. There is no way how much time there is left, so most of the times you'll end up doing things over and over until you make it. Fortunately Al Lowe's excellent sense of humor makes up for it. This humor, combined with a bizare plot where Larry fits in brilliantly, and a lot of cool exotic locations makes this game a great addition to the Larry series.
